Everybody wants to have an exciting and affordable summer vacation, one that checks all the desired boxes and doesn’t cost so much that it hurts their soul. Unfortunately this is hard to do, and people end up sacrificing something in turn for another, no matter what. You can’t have the food, the activities, and the location all for the price of one. This is rather common knowledge, and as such there are many guides out there in order to help people form the best vacations at affordable prices. They help people find locations and foods at discounted rates and overall make the planning and execution of the trip easier. However, no one tells you how to have a good luxurious vacation. There is no guides on how picking the best 5 star hotel, in the most remote or elite locations, with the best and most divine cultural foods. Now there is.
One of the most important components of a good vacation is location. Location is everything because it will be where you are doing everything involved in your vacation. Your location determines where you are eating, sleeping, exploring, and everything in between. Currently the top three most expensive cities to vacation at are Paris, Singapore, and Hong Kong. They are so highly priced for good reason. Those three cities also rank as some of the most beautiful cities around the world and should be your top three locations to consider for your expensive trip. The actually hotel you pick is also of great importance after choosing your destination. All across the world there is numerous hotels famous for their luxurious rooms, great food, and great service. This is the same for all of the locations on our list. In Paris there is a fantastically expensive suite at the Hotel de Crillon costing a cool $36,000 a night. The bedrooms feature baldachin beds, his and hers dressing rooms, and gorgeous bathrooms with stunning amenities, one of which being a two-ton Carrera marble bathtub and another a 17th-century red marble fountain turned into a sink, from the hotel’s original courtyard. It is the perfect place and price to quickly drain your bank account as well as provide you with ultimate comfort and space, perhaps more than necessary, along with some bragging rights. In Singapore, our lowest priced location, the suite we recommend runs you only $20,000 but is located in beautiful Marina Bay Sands. The view and price are both breathtaking, and it is sure to blow you away with ocean view balcony and large windows. In Hong Kong it’s a very different scene. Surrounded by city the best view you can get is high up. The Four Seasons penthouse in Hong Kong offers that, thousand of feet above the ground you can see the city stretching out for miles while paying only $18,000 a night. The suite comes with a wellness room, piano, and an angled telescope. A couple of nights at any of these locations will set you back a poor man’s small fortune, as well as assert your wealth in a fashionable way.
With an overpriced roof over your head and a bed to sleep in, the only real human necessity remaining would be nourishment. A big part of traveling is enjoying the cultural food of wherever you may be. All over the world different regions have different foods, influenced by culture and geography. On this trip it will be important to find the most expensive and ridiculously fancy food possible in your location. When in Paris, it will be most important to sample the world renowned French cuisine, while spending as much money as possible. Le Jules Verne would most likely be the most appropriate restaurant to do so. Located in the Eiffel Tower, the restaurant offers “contemporary cuisine with regionally sourced local ingredients” as well as costing you about $500 a head and an additional $3,000 if you get a bottle of the Romanee-Conti. It will be sublime food, but of course overpriced, and with an amazing view but still less glamorous than expected. In Singapore your three star Michelin meal will run you a little less at only $250 a head for a six-course meal at Waku Ghin. In the warmer ocean climate, the restaurant is more seafood-oriented with appetizing takes on many different fish. Finally in Hong Kong, you will find the first Chinese restaurant to be recognized with Michelin’s coveted three star rating, as well as the most exquisite seafood and dim sum, at Lung King Heen, located at the Four Seasons you will be staying at. It is also the most expensive meal featured, running up $2,350 per person with wine pairings included. It is sure to blow you away and hopefully will include some sort of comfort food to make you feel better about losing all that money.
Eating and sleeping takes up only so much time and can only cost you so much. With all your down time between miniscule yet high quality meals and naps in luxurious beds, you will have to find a way to spend your time as well as the rest of your money. In Paris there is much to see and the best way to spend your time and money is in tours that showcase all of its spectacles. A visit to Giverny and Versailles for the day is only $300, following up the next night with dinner cruise down the Seine with shows and stops at different locals including the Eiffel tower, all for another $300 dollars. Day-by-day you can continue to have guided tours of every museum and attractions in the city for a couple hundred dollars a day, the perfect way to quickly drain your bank account as well as culture yourself a little more. The same goes for Singapore, again with slightly lower prices costing you $100-$200 a day, with wild safari tours, city view trams, snorkeling, and large ferris wheel adventures. Hong Kong perhaps has the most exciting attractions, such as intricate gardens and temples, boating tours and dining, as well as its own Asian style Disneyland, all costing about $400-$500 dollars a day. All spectacular experiences to add to your repertoire.
Keep in mind these are just some tips and recommendations, at all locations you will find numerous attractions, foods, and adventurous to spend your money on and will come out of it with great experiences. Just make sure to do your research in order to truly maximize spending and walk away from these vacations with a broken bank account.
